The designs in this collection of bags are derived from Mayan women's textiles, in this case the elaborate hand embroidered "randas" that are used to join huipil panels throughout the Western highlands. The beadwork is done by a women's cooperative near Lake Atitln, and the bag is finished with a vintage style metal clasp frame.. The removable knotted cotton crossbody strap was designed to mimic
