Japanese Wooden Shrine Plaque Ema Vtg Hakuho Garan Yakushiji Temple EM75 iris Embroidered with a picture ofVintage Japanese Wooden Shrine Plaque, Ema This vintage Japanese ema plaque represents the Hakuho Garan temple complex of Yakushiji temple (Nara) painted in light bue, green, red and yellow. The ema board has some vertical inscriptions and an attached red braided cord. There is a paper on the back with some explanation. Ema is a small wooden plaque used at Shinto shrines, and sometimes Buddhist temples, that worshipers can write their wishes, hopes,
